And probably the final one for the console too(at least seeing how GBA only had 3 Castlevania games).
So, some pictures were released some time ago. They looked ugly. That aside, what would you want to see in this game?
Personally, so long as we get weapon variety and some sort of subweapon/soul system where we can actually train a skill for it to become better, I'm happy. That, and a bigger castle. And please, oh please, don't pull something like Portrait of Ruin's last four paintings.

Here: kotaku.com/346759/rumored-new-castlevania-ds-screens-indicate-wii-connectivityThe main problems with those pictures is that they look downright horrible, they use the backgrounds of PoR, the "crab" on the rightmost one looks pitiful, the moon is more of a searchlight than an actual moon(just look at that "moonshine"), and the sprite animations look exactly like those of Charlotte(only modified). All that and the fact that "Wii conectivity" would be pretty much useless. What are you going to do? IGA has said that while he is VERY interested in the Wii-mote, it'd be tiresome for someone to play CV using it. That practically hints that there won't be any CV game for Wii, at least not for the next year or two. Oh, I must add: Kotaku is known for a lot of hoaxes. Yet, the guy who first showed everyone those pictures on GameFaqs has been ascended to a VIP(status only attainable if you can prove that you work for a certain company, such as Konami). For the moment, they are still only rumors and nothing else.

Those are fakes. I'm quite sure of it. The date of that article was on January 18, 2008. I'm sure by now, we'd have seen more screenshots or heard some news from a legitimate site.
Around October - November of 2007, IGA confirmed that there would indeed be a new Castlevania for DS, but I'm led to believe that someone came up with these screenshots to cause a little controversy.
Although, I must say, that if these are in fact, real, I would be very surprised.

Exactly my opinion on them, as stated above.
I wonder, though...is IGA actually thinking of a female lead for one of the next games?

It'd be a wonderful change.
Of course, having a hero who doesn't suffer from varying degrees of albinism is good too (Jonathan and Charlette seem fine, but when will the next white-haired hero appear?).

The white hair has a meaning, actually. In Japanese culture, it symbolizes god-hood or the like.

Well, I must say - I'm very surprised! It's actually real.
It is titled: Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia.
You guys can bring the info here if you want. I just wanted to let you guys know. Sorry if you guys already knew this. It's news to my ears, though.

Not new per se. Heard about it last week, but I thought it useless to post it here. What is known so far is:
*The game takes place after Symphony of the Night, when the Belmonts are nowhere to be seen(Richter being the last one until the appearance of Julius). That is, in the mid-1800s.
*The main character is called Shanoa(the most powerful member of the Order of Ecclesia), with Barlowe(the head of the order) and Albus(also a member of the order, but he steals the order's ultimate weapon) as supporting characters.
*Shanoa makes use of "glyphs" to fight, akin to souls from the Sorrow games. She can get them from monsters, bosses, and possibly other sources. The trick is, there are no weapons, and every attack costs MP.
*MP aside, there are also hearts. How they will be used(sub-skills again?) is unknown.
*The game takes place both IN and OUTside the castle, much like PoR. Except this time it really is outside, not just paintings.
*There are towns(Simon Quest, anyone?). Villagers give out side-quests(much like Wind, I take it).
*Online mode will include the shop(and most likely the boss rush-like mode, like the past two games).
There's also a trailer out there, which shows some minor gameplay and the intro(which IMO, looks spectacular. Love the new approach they used).
Release date: Q4 2008
